Reading should occur for 20 uninterrupted minutes each night. In an effort to increase the depth and relevance of reading responses, below are some prompts to help with writing responses. Use one or more of the sentence starters below.
Below you will find a downloadable Reading Log sheet tha can be printed from home or students can write their entries on lined paper based upon the categories on the Reading Log sheet.

2. Math Logs
Math logs are to be completed each night. Students should be spending 20 uninterrupted minutes on their math facts. They can work through a math website, play a multiplication game (i.e. card game) or on a worksheet (please include the worksheet in the math log). The goal of math logs is to get students engaged in practicing their math facts daily, but to also think of setting targets for their learning once they have achieved mastery in a certain area of their math tables. They should ask themselves, "What will I continue to work on, or move to next?"
